Setting Up DRT Locations and Final Destination Radius
Your DRT locations determine the coverage area of your services. Instead of outlining a specific area on a map, your locations define a radius within which other locations can be considered. This flexibility allows you to add and remove locations in real-time, even while your services are in operation.
For instance, if your radius is 800m, then locations within 800m of a stop can be chosen as the final destination for a passenger.
If you set the radius to 0m, only the stops themselves can be selected as final destinations. This means passengers can then only book and select the locations from your entry list.
The radius can be adjusted according to the DRT rules.
How to Add a DRT Stop
- Go to the Main Menu
- Select 'Locations'
- Choose 'Add Location'
- Provide a name for the stop
- Add a What3Words location to precisely mark it
- Include the address and contact information, if desired (although the What3Words pin will be used)
- Set the category as either 'Bus Stop' or 'Virtual Bus Stop'
How to Remove a DRT Stop
- Go to the Main Menu
- Select 'Locations'
- Click on the delete icon (rubbish bin icon)
- Confirm the deletion
You can always add the stop back in again easily in the future.
Please Note:
For your zone to function properly, your DRT locations must be categorised as 'Bus Stop' or 'Virtual Bus Stop'.
Additionally, when adding your location, ensure that you always pinpoint the location using What3Words. This ensures that Road XS has precise information about the stop's location and navigates the driver to this exact location using navigation.
How Can I Ensure DRT Exclusivity for Selecting Only My Stops?
To ensure that only the locations you specify can be selected, it's important to set the DRT radius to 0 in the general settings under rules. This restricts the final destination solely to the locations that you have added.
Can I Use DRT Technology for Employee Transport?
Certainly. It is possible to empower your employees or passengers to choose their ultimate destination beyond your designated stops by enabling a radius distance, or by setting the radius to 0 to restrict their boarding and allowing solely the specified stops you enter.
